What You Get
A Claude skill that turns invoice creation into a conversation. No SaaS subscription, no login portal, no monthly fee. Just tell Claude who to invoice and for what — and get a branded, tax-compliant PDF in seconds.
Any Country, Any Tax System
Works with GST, VAT, sales tax, or no tax at all. Claude researches your local requirements during setup so your invoices are always compliant.
Your Brand, Your Style
Uses your logo, brand colours, and business details. Every invoice looks like it came from a professional accounting system.
Automatic Tax Calculations
Say “plus GST” or “inc VAT” and Claude handles the maths. Tax-inclusive, tax-exclusive, or no tax — it just works.
Sequential Numbering
Every invoice gets an automatic sequential number (like INV-2026-04-001) so your records stay clean for tax time.
Payment Details Built In
Bank details, PayPal, Stripe, PayID — whatever payment methods you use, they’re right there on every invoice.
Natural Language
No forms, no fields. Just say “invoice Jake for 3 hours of coaching at $200/hr” and Claude does the rest.

The Setup Wizard
Start a new chat with Claude and say “Set up my invoicing”. Claude walks you through everything conversationally — think of it like filling out a form, except Claude’s doing the form for you. You only do this once.
🏢 Business Details
Your business name, your name (if different), country, address, email, and website. The basics that go on every invoice.
💰 Tax Registration
Based on your country, Claude looks up what tax system you use (GST, VAT, sales tax) and what’s legally required on your invoices. It’ll ask for your tax number (ABN, VAT number, EIN) and confirm the correct rate. Not registered for tax? Just say no — it’ll generate regular invoices without tax.
🎨 Branding
Your primary brand colour (give a hex code like #396a6b or just say “dark teal”), an optional accent colour, and your logo. Upload a JPG or PNG — or skip it and Claude uses a styled text header with your business name.
💳 Payment Details
Default payment terms (e.g. “Due within 14 days”), bank details (bank name, BSB/sort code, account number), and any other payment methods you use — PayPal, Stripe, PayID.
💲 Currency & Formatting
Claude suggests your currency symbol (A$, £, €) and date format based on your country. You can override if needed.
🔢 Invoice Numbering
Default format: INV-2026-04-001 (year-month-sequence). You can customise the format and choose what number to start at.
Create Your First Invoice
Now the fun bit. Start a new chat (or keep going in the same one) and just tell Claude who to invoice. Be as casual or detailed as you like.
Try saying something like…
“Create an invoice for Sarah Mitchell for a Brand Strategy Workshop, $850 plus GST”
Claude pulls your business details and branding from the config, calculates the tax correctly, generates a branded PDF, and gives you the file to download. Done.
| What you say | What happens |
|---|---|
| “Invoice Sarah for a consult, $500 + GST” | Creates an invoice with GST calculated on top of $500 |
| “Invoice Tom for $1,100 inc VAT” | Backs out the VAT from the $1,100 total |
| “Bill Acme Co for 3x workshops at $2,000 each, unpaid, due in 30 days” | Multi-line invoice with custom payment terms |
| “Create an invoice for yesterday’s session with Jamie, she already paid via bank transfer” | Marks as paid with payment date |
| “Redo this invoice” (with a PDF attached) | Recreates it using your branding and proper tax compliance |
🔄 Updating Your Settings
Things change — new address, new bank, new prices. Just say “Update my invoice settings” and Claude will ask what you want to change. You can also be specific: “Change my business address to...”, “Update my bank details”, or “I just got my VAT number, it’s GB 123 456 789”.
Tips & Tricks
A few things that’ll help you get the most out of it.
🎯 Be specific about tax treatment
Say “plus GST”, “inc VAT”, “ex tax”, or “no tax” so Claude knows how to calculate. If you don’t specify, it’ll ask — but being upfront saves a back-and-forth.
🏠 Include client addresses for large invoices
If your invoice total is over your country’s threshold (e.g. $1,000 inc GST in Australia), include the client’s address. Claude will remind you if it’s needed, but proactively including it keeps things smooth.
📸 Upload your logo during setup
It makes a huge difference to how professional the invoice looks. A simple PNG or JPG works fine. You can always update it later.
📋 Use it for record keeping
Every invoice gets a sequential number automatically, so your records stay clean for tax time. No more manually tracking invoice numbers in a spreadsheet.
🌟 Bonus Tip: Connect Google Sheets
Add a Google Sheets integration to the skill and Claude will automatically log every invoice it creates — client name, amount, tax, date, payment status, the lot. You get a live invoice tracker that updates itself every time you say “invoice someone.” No manual data entry, no forgetting to update your records. Just tell Claude which spreadsheet to use during setup and it handles the rest.
Troubleshooting
If something’s not working, here are the most common fixes.
“Claude isn’t using the skill”
Make sure the skill is installed and enabled in Settings > Skills. Try saying “create an invoice” explicitly to trigger it.
“It’s asking me to set up again”
The config might not have saved properly. Run through the setup wizard again — it only takes a couple of minutes.
“The tax calculation looks wrong”
Tell Claude whether your price is tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive. “500 plus GST” and “$500 inc GST” give very different totals.
“I want to change my logo”
Say “update my invoice settings” and tell Claude you want to change your logo. Upload the new file and you’re done.
That’s it
You’ve got a personal invoicing system that lives inside Claude. No SaaS subscription, no login, no monthly fee. Just tell Claude who to invoice and for what. If you’ve got questions, you know where to find me.
